Ashley Park
|
Ashley hides his crippling self-hatred behind a smirk and laughter.
Ashley is a Sagittarius, and his birthday is 12/1. PERSONALITY
Ashley is arrogant, sarcastic, social, at times avoidant, and sensitive about specific topics, especially pertaining to his absent parents. Ashley is more likely to smile and joke at someone else's expense and avoid addressing his own problems. This leads him to argue even when he knows he is wrong, although he wouldn't consider himself stubborn. In most universes, Ashley deals with his perceived inferiority and abandonment issues in destructive ways, such as with excessive drinking or risk taking. Reckless behavior is common for Ashley. To people close to him, he tends to be very dependent on them. It bothers him to admit that he relies heavily on others, namely Sam, in order to feel less insecure. Due to his absent parents, Ashley is typically jealous of others with stable or close families. APPEARANCE Ashley is lean with little to no muscle definition (he's tried, it just doesn't appear). He's 5'7". Ashley gets into an accident when he's a young adult and loses his right leg from the mid-thigh down. He has a prosthetic leg (usually a flashy, hollow looking leg, to hide his insecurity behind its 'cool' appearance) When Ashley is in his mid-20s, he starts growing white hairs around his temples. This is from stress and his perpetual unluckiness. In some universes, Ashley has a forget-me-not flower tattoo under his wrist, to match Sam, who has the same tattoo. SEXUALITY Demisexual. FAMILY

Parents
Ashley has a very strained relationship with his parents. They have always put their own success and work before Ashley, leaving him to be taken care of by a nanny, and then when he's older, himself. They are very distant from him but have high expectations. Yoona in particular is very critical of her son, while his father Joonmin plays a more passive role as a parent.
sam lexington
In Meridian’s Witch Detective, Sam is a university professor who comes to work for the witch detective department. Ashley has spent months pining after him in a local coffee shop, where he see’s him every morning before going to work. Sam and Ashley’s work relationship is strained because Ashley is trying to succeed for his mother’s approval, and Sam just wants to solve cases effectively. Sam comes to understand how stressed and sad Ashley is, and becomes a close friend. Ashley’s attraction only doubles when Sam becomes more concerned and kind to him.
In every other alternate universe, Sam has been Ashley's best friend since they were very young, with Sam defending Ashley from bullies. Although he doesn't outwardly display many emotions, Ashley knows that Sam is considerate, caring, and intelligent; he is often times the polar opposite of Ashley. Where Ashley is reckless, Sam is typically logical. Sam's achievements and love for science are things Ashley teases him about constantly, but he secretly wishes he was as intelligent, or that he had a positive hobbies. As when they were younger, Sam is still defensive about any criticisms directed towards Ashley. Sam's opinion of Ashley means a lot to him, and upsetting him can cause Ashley to recognize a mistake and make amends. kasey park
Ashley's cousin. Kasey comes from a very loving family and Kasey tries to be there for his cousin, who is often left alone while his parents work. Ashley has a hard time admitting it to Kasey, but he appreciates his cousin being there for him, and considers him the closest thing to a brother to him.
juniper
Ashley's eventual daughter. She cares about Ashley, although she thinks he 'dresses and looks like a villain' most days.
jasper asano
Jasper absolutely cannot stand Ashley, and Ashley, trying his best, tries to tolerate Jasper for his cousin. Their personalities however, do not agree, and Jasper tends to call out Ashley's behavior for what it is: childish and pathetic.
